INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The 2024 Indiana Gubernatorial Debate occurred today at the WFYI Studio in Indianapolis. The debate included Democrat candidate Jennifer McCormick, Libertarian candidate Donald Rainwater and Republican candidate Mike Braun.
The debate was held by the Indiana Debate Commission and was moderated by Laura Merrifield Wilson, a professor of political science at the University of Indianapolis.
Debate topics included guns, agriculture, the economy, education and unions. Big ticket items included cannabis, abortion and property tax.
Regarding property tax, inflation as a whole is a large factor in the election for Hoosiers. Experts say property tax has risen 17% in the past year.
