A small plane crashed near the 4300 block of East 100 South on the east side of Anderson, north of the Yarberry gravel pit, around 9:45 a.m. Sept. 6. The plane went down outside of the Anderson Municipal Airport.
All four passengers were later confirmed dead by the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
Darwin Dwiggins of the sheriff's department said at a press conference that the single-engine plane left Fort Dodge, Iowa, at 6:48 a.m. Friday. It was expected to land at Anderson Municipal Airport shortly before 10 a.m.
