MUNCIE, Ind. — As any season wraps up, momentum can be a considerable factor for any team. That statement holds true for Ball State men’s tennis as they look to finish off the season strong. Head coach Bill Richards touches on the importance of maintaining momentum.
“No question it’s important to have the momentum. We’d love to keep it, but one match at a time,” said Richards.
The Cardinals will try to ride that momentum not only to finish regular season play but also to the MAC Tournament later this month. Junior Sajin Smith speaks on the benefits that the extra momentum provides to the squad.
“That momentum is going to help, confidence building, and just belief,” added Smith. Over the weekend, Ball State continued its momentous streak by picking up two huge wins over Toledo and Buffalo, thus boosting the Cardinals to four straight wins.
Smith noted, “Huge winning both matches at home. Really close in the conference, everyone’s good.”
After a successful three games won at home, Ball State looks to repeat that with their last three regular season matches on the road.
Richards emphasized, “It’s always a little bit tougher when you're on the road; everybody knows that.”
The Cardinals will keep their foot on the gas to compete for a regular-season championship as they prepare for the MAC Tournament.
