MUNCIE, Ind.--- Ball State women’s basketball faced JMU in the first MAC v. SBC Challenge. The best teams in each conference play each other for one home and one away game.
“What they're trying to do with it, both leagues makes sense. If there is a year where we go to JMU and get Quad 1 win, and we can knock them off...that's huge this time of year," Coach Brady Sallee said.
Marie Kiefer led the way for the Cardinals with 19 points. After the game, she took to the microphone and expressed the motivation that came with the loss last week to NIU.
“I thought it was extra motivation like we talked about before the game," she said.
The Cardinals did indeed bounce back with a convincing win over the Dukes. The team would like to get back on the winning track after the loss last week to snap a 15-game winning streak.
The Challenge ended up being a win for basketball as neither conference pulled a head, both winning six games a piece.
