Delta senior football player Kaiden Bond is the Daily News Athlete of the Week from the week of 10/25-11/1.
“It just shows that our community is really strong and our class is pretty good at what we do,” Bond said.
In the sectional semifinal win over Yorktown on Friday, Oct. 27, Bond ran for 90 yards and had a touchdown. To him, his teammates have been a big part of his recent success.
“I think the confidence that our team has really affected me,” he said. “ …It made us think that we can do whatever we put our minds to.”
Delta athletic director Tilmon Clark believes that Bond represents Delta in the best ways.
“Kaiden is a WEoverME type of guy,” Clark said via email. “Whatever role the coaching staff has asked him to play, he accepts the challenge and does what he can to help the team win. “This type of mentality will have a lasting impact on the football program!”
The Ball State Daily News will use this program to honor athletes who had an impressive week or a breakout performance. A candidate from each school will be chosen and the community can vote for the winner.
Candidates will be announced every Wednesday with the voting closing on the following Saturday at 5 p.m. If you believe a certain student-athlete should be your school’s candidate, email the Daily News high school sports reporter Zach Carter at zachary.carter@bsu.edu.
To vote for the athletes, check the Daily News Sports account on X.
