Ball State football had seven players listed on the All-MAC (Mid-American Conference) teams for the 2023 season.
Earning first-team honors were offensive lineman Corey Stewart and senior defensive lineman Sidney Houston Jr.
Houston Jr. led the Cardinals with eight sacks on the season, he also led the most tackles for a loss with 17.
Redshirt junior running back Marquez Cooper and redshirt senior linebacker Cole Pearce made the second team.
Cooper reached the 1,000-yard rushing mark in the last game of the season against Miami (OH). He averaged 86.92 yards per game and had four touchdowns on the season.
Pearce was second on the team with 78 total tackles and was also second behind Houston Jr. with 10 tackles for a loss. He also brought down one of the five interceptions the defense had all season.
Third-team selections were redshirt senior offensive tackle Damon Kaylor, sophomore tight end Tanner Koziol and junior punter Lucas Borrow.
Kaylor was a large part of the offensive line that helped Cooper achieve the 1,000-yard rushing mark.
Koziol led Ball State with three receiving touchdowns and was third on the team in receiving yards.
Borrow averaged 41.83 yards on his punts. He had nine punts this year over 50 yards. His long was a 65-yarder and finished with 22 of his punts inside the 20-yard line.
