MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink Indiana) — A Ball State homecoming tradition made its way back to Emens Auditorium Friday for the 36th year.
Air Jam is a lip syncing and dance battle competition where Ball State student dance organizations and other student groups come together for competitive fun.
Some of the groups involved this year are the Code Red Dance Team, OBO and Rhythm Dance Troupe.
One group competing alongside these groups this year is Outlet. Outlet is a veteran to Air Jam and focuses mostly on Hip Hop.
“This is one of the most important and biggest events for Outlet,” President of Outlet Jaydis Rice said. "It's very important to us because most of the new members are freshman and it gives them the opportunity to compete and to know what it feels like to compete.”
Not only does the group love competing, but they also love seeing and experiencing all the other groups perform in the same atmosphere.
Outlet’s goal this year is to reclaim the title after losing their 12 year winning streak at the 2022 Air Jam.
“Fingers crossed we win Air Jam this year and win back the title that is rightfully ours,” Rice said.
If you missed Outlet at Air Jam you can catch Outlet in another show in the Spring where they will host a showcase.
