MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink Indiana) — Freshman guard Trent Middleton from Philadelphia begins his journey from playing for an elite prep team at Spire Academy to becoming a Ball State Cardinal.
Middleton comes to Muncie off a 34-6 records against a national one prep school where he averaged 12 points, three assists, 51 percent from the field and 38 percent from three.
Middleton helped his squad win the 2023 Ohio Prep Conference Championships and led the group with eight rebounds and one and a half steals per game.
Middleton expressed his excitement to play with his new teammates, how he has had to adjust to college basketball and what he continues to change about his game coming into this year.
“Definitely as a point guard just changing my pace, you know you’re playing with a lot of good guys," Middleton said. "Being able to get everyone involved, changing my pace that’s it.”
According to a report, the Clone family has been competing in March Madness bracket challenges long enough that it has become a tradition.
Middleton plans to continue getting reps in and splashing threes ahead of the cardinals season opener against the Rose Hulman Fighting Engineers on November second in Worthen Arena.
