MUNCIE, Ind. -- Kadin Semonza is a true freshman quarterback for the Ball State Cardinals. True freshman meaning the quarterback is playing meaningful snaps for the Cardinals.
Semonza is making a geography change as he is from California, where he played high school football. Semonza went to Mission Viejo High School, where quarterbacks like Jordan Palmer and Mark Sanchez walked the halls.
Semonza said being around those guys “really helped [his] growth and improvement as a quarterback." Semonza has been around a lot of familiar quarterbacks that have helped him become the player he is today.
Semonza said there was a culture shock coming to the Midwest from the west coast.
"Going from the typical sunny and 75 everyday.... it doesn’t get better than that. [The] first time seeing real snow like that definitely was a shock," Semonza said.
The important question though: has the Cardinal quarterback eaten at a Pizza King yet?
“I might disappoint a lot of people, but I have not ate at a Pizza King yet," Semonza said.
The Cardinals look to bounce back from the loss against Georgia Southern this past weekend coming this Saturday, at Western Michigan, against the Broncos at 3:30 p.m..
