Ball State soccer was back in spring action at home with a 1-1 draw in a spring match against Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats April 1.
First-year forward Emily Roper scored for the Cardinals with and assist from first-year defender Acadia Murphy in the first half.
The Wildcats’ second-year midfielder Elisha Strawser scored late in the second half to tie the game.
Ball State head coach Josh Rife expressed his disappointment from the game but emphasized positive game time.
“It serves a purpose and we get better from it,” Rife said.
When it comes to addressing mistakes, Rife said he puts a certain amount of responsibility on his team.
“You have to rely on teammates [for motivation] at times. That’s accountability and sometimes it's difficult,” Rife said.
The Cardinals play again April 15 at 1 p.m. against the Jaguars from IUPUI in Indianapolis.
