FORT WAYNE, Ind. --- The Ball State Cardinals completing their historic season with a win in 4 sets over Purdue Fort Wayne this past Saturday. With the win, the Cardinals clinched their first MIVA Conference championship since 2002. Finishing at 20-3, Ball State was able to claim the best record for their team in 20 years.
Under first year head coach Donan Cruz, Ball State has seen changes that have pushed them to play at the highest level that the school has ever seen. Graduate student Quinn Isaacson gives the coaching staff credit for their success.
“This staff kind of gave us a different mindset, a different look, and just the idea that we can be very very good," Isaacson said.
After winning the MIVA championship, Ball State looks to turn to tournament time, which will be held at home for the first time in two decades and do what they can to perform at the highest level.
The Cardinals have a week to prepare for the MIVA tournament as Ball State looks to continue their dominance against Quincy University on Saturday, April 16.
