MUNCIE, Ind. --- (NewsLink) The Ball State Esports program is bursting onto the scene faster than many people might have anticipated. The Valorant Red Team has been on an absolute tear and consistent throughout the season coming into this week at 7-1.
The Cardinals have relied on chemistry within their own ranks as well as constant practices in order to hone in their craft before playoff time. Newly acquired freshman Corey Dillion and experienced junior Jacob Bishop have been two of the key members for this Valorant squad on their way to the best record in program history through its short existence.
With the Esports program being founded in 2020 and the Esports Center opening in 2021, the Cardinals have been able to find their success very quickly. They are hoping to make a deep run into the playoffs and bring championship status to Ball State for the first time in school history.
BSU will head into the playoffs on April 9 starting at noon. Contact Bryce Dmyszewicz with comments at badmyszewicz@bsu.edu.
