MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink) --- With the start of the 2022 a week away, Ball State baseball is chomping at the bit to get their first in game action in over nine months.
“I’m very excited,” redshirt sophomore pitcher Trennor O’Donnell said. “I’m ready to go and I think a lot of the team is too.”
Even with a solid last two seasons, winning 38 games, the Cardinals’ goals for the year will be to make it over the hump.
“Win a MAC Championship and make it to an NCAA Regional for the first time,” graduate first baseman Trenton Quartermaine said.
In order to accomplish the team’s lofty goals, Ball State will have to power through a tough MAC schedule, including rival Central Michigan, as well top ranked programs such as Oregon.
"There is no doubt that Central Michigan and we have a great rivalry. So does Kent and all the other schools. They’re all competitive and they’re all tough to beat.”
The Cardinals will finally take the mound next Friday, February 18, 2022, as they take on Bucknell University in South Carolina.
