MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink) -- COVID cases are dropping across the state and in Delaware County in surprising numbers.
Covid cases in Delaware County dropped 41.7 percent, while throughout Indiana, cases dropped 15.6 percent. Indiana had far fewer Covid cases last week adding 13,897 new cases. The previous week's number was 16,462.
In Delaware County, there were 169 cases and eight deaths last week, while a week before they reported 290 cases and 14 deaths. Throughout the pandemic, the total number of Delaware County cases were 14,931 with 256 deaths.
Across Indiana, 70 counties have seen a decline in Covid cases. The major drops in cases are the following counties: Marion County with 1,429 cases from 1,695 a week ago, Knox County with 194 cases from 374, and Elkhart County with 470 cases from 639.
According to usafacts.org in Indiana, 3,567,895 people of the state have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 3,311,433 of Indiana has been fully vaccinated.
