INDIANAPOLIS—Pacers Guard Malcom Brogdon reported that he tested positive for the coronavirus.
Brogdon, the team’s third-leading scorer, released a statement which said, “I recently tested positive for the COVID virus and am currently in quarantine.”
Despite concerns over whether this affects his availability for the postponed NBA season set to resume July 31, Brogdon claims he is not worried.
“I’m doing well, feeling well, and progressing well,” said Brogdon, “I plan to join my teammates in Orlando for the resumption of the NBA season and playoffs."
Brogdon is currently in his first season with the Pacers, following a three year stretch on the Milwaukee Bucks. In addition to his 16.3 points per game, Brogdon is also average a team high 7.3 assists per game, a mark that ranks tenth in the NBA.
