MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink) -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention put out a new update that has warned citizens of future cases of the Coronavirus.
"It's novel, it's a new type of infection," says Susan McDowell, vice provost for research.
While the symptoms of the Coronavirus are similar to those of the regular flu, McDowell said they differ. People do not recognize the differences because they do not understand the Coronavirus as well as the flu.
The sudden call to action came from the CDC's update to their website, which warned citizens of the United States that more Coronavirus cases are to be expected.
Some are worried that this spread will hit even closer to home, in areas such as Muncie or on Ball State's campus.
McDowell said that in the event of any future cases on campus, the university has policies and procedures in place.
