Ball State men's golf opens up its spring schedule at the seventh annual Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play in Dade City, Florida.
The three-round event will span over the course of two days at the Lake Jovita's Country Club. Formally known as the Mid-American Match play — the name was changed to honor former men's golf coach Early Yestingsmeier — the event features several MAC teams.

According to Golfstat, Ball State opens up as the No. 4 seed, opening the tournament against No. 5 Drake in the first round Monday morning. The other first round matchups include No. 1 Miami against No. 8 Loyola-Chicago, No. 2 Eastern Michigan versus No. 7 Ohio and No. 3 Toledo will face off against No. 6 DePaul.
The tournament format ensures that each team will play three matches over the course of the next two days. The team matches themselves will consist of six individual matches. Ball State's current lineup has All-MAC golfer Johnny Watts in the team's first spot with Timothy Wiseman, Michael VanDeventer, Jack Cunningham, Michael Makris and CJ Jones following.
Ball State has one the event twice since its inception, coming home as champions in both 2012 and 2014. In the fall, the Cardinals has two top five finishes at the EKU Intercollegiate (4th) and ODU/OBX Intercollegiate (2nd).
