Ball State senior swim captain Zachary Toman was arrested last weekend on preliminary charges of public intoxication.
Toman was picked up by Ball State University Police around 4 a.m. Friday. He was arrested back in 2015 and was charged with illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage, according to online court records.
The swimmer failed to appear in court on the original charge and had a warrant out for his arrest.
Toman is originally from Greenville, Ohio. He swims freestyle and breaststroke events, according to his online biography. He has placed at several Mid-American Conference Championships.
