Ball State women's tennis puts its nine-match win streak on the line with two Mid-American Conference matches this weekend.
At 1 p.m. Friday, the Cardinals (14-2, 2-0 MAC) face the Bowling Green Falcons (5-9, 1-1 MAC) who beat a strong Toledo team in their last outing. Then, at the same time on Sunday, the Buffalo Bulls roll in to town. Last season, the Cardinals split the season series with the Bulls.
Head coach Max Norris said there are two ways to approach the weekend's matchups.
"You can either approach it like you’re nervous and you feel like you only have something to lose, or you can just embrace the fact that people want to beat you and you’re playing for something and just kind of own it and have fun with it,” Norris said.
Speaking specifically about the opposition, Norris said Bowling Green has a lot of talent, and he predicts that the match will be a battle. He also expects the Buffalo matchup to be just as competitive.

When: 1 p.m. Friday, Sunday
Where: Northwest YMCA
Opponent: Bowling Green, Buffalo
Last season, when the Cardinals were looking to extend their 15-game winning streak, it was the Bulls who toppled them. But the Cardinals gained their revenge in the MAC tournament.
This current streak includes a doubles loss away to Western Michigan last Friday. The last time Ball State lost a doubles point this season was in its 6-1 loss away to Cincinnati in February, which Norris has constantly referred to as the turning point of the year.
“I think it’s very important to, number one, field a line up where all three teams can win," Norris said. "Number two, I think it’s very important to match up with your opponents effectively."
