In the second outdoor meet of the season, Ball State track and field traveled to North Carolina State to compete in the Raleigh Relays.
On day one of the two-day meet, Cardinals finished with three top 10 finishes and five career-best performances. Sophomore Jazmin Smith placed sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.16 seconds. Freshman Jasmine Harris followed in ninth place with a career-best time of 14.34.
Sophomore Regan Lewis cleared the bar at 1.70 meters in the high jump to place second. The height was enough to meet the automatic Mid-American Conference qualifying mark.
She was only beat by .05 meters by Cincinnati’s Loretta Blaut.
“I was a little disappointed by Regan’s score,” head coach Brian Etelman said. “We usually want her around 1.75.”
