Four different Ball State women's basketball players scored at least 15 points in the Cardinals' 92-84 win at Northern Illinois Saturday.
Senior center Renee Bennett and junior forward Moriah Monaco tied for the team lead with 22 points. Sophomore guard Destiny Washington added 17, and senior guard Calyn Hosea scored 16.
Bennett (13 rebounds) and Washington (12 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles as well.
The Cardinals and Huskies were tied 80-80 with 2:06 remaining, but Ball State stepped up at the free-throw line, going 10-11 in the last two minutes during a 12-4 run to end the game.
Ball State (18-8, 11-3 MAC) is now tied with Northern Illinois (18-7, 11-3 MAC) for second place in the MAC West, one game behind Central Michigan (20-6, 12-2 MAC).
The Cardinals next game is Wednesday at Western Michigan. Ball State hosts Central Michigan Saturday.
