Though Brockhouse was originally scheduled to start Sunday's game against Louisville, head coach Rich Maloney said he'd keep Brockhouse available against Maryland.
Brockhouse entered the game with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth after starting pitcher BJ Butler, a senior right-hander, had allowed three runs (one earned) in his 4.1 innings on the mound.
Maryland junior Kevin Biondic dug into the plate with the Terrapins up 3-1 and worked a full count, but Brockhouse got out of the jam with a strikeout. Brockhouse finished the game without allowing a run in 4.1 innings and struck out eight batters.

The top of the order was due up for the Cardinals in the top of the sixth, and they started a five-run rally to take a 6-3 lead.
Senior third baseman Sean Kennedy, who Butler said was his toughest out in practice, added a two-run home run in the top of the eighth to give Ball State the final 8-3 margin.
The Cardinals play Alabama State at 2 pm. Saturday in Clearwater, Florida.
