Even pets have a Christmas list.
This holiday season, vendors, crafters and small businesses from Delaware County will be gathering at All Heart Nurse's Aid Training Center and Uniform Doctors LLC as part of the "Ultimate Christmas Shopping Experience," which will benefit the Muncie Animal Rescue Fund and support local businesses.
The event will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at All Heart Nurse's Aide Training Center/Uniform Doctors, 3400 N. Wheeling Ave.
Door prize tickets will be given to guests who bring either a monetary donation or an item to be donated to ARF from their wish list. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Each ticket will enter a guest into a raffle, and the prizes for the raffle have been donated by the vendors. These prizes include items such as jewelry, gift cards, hampers and bags, which will be given away throughout the event.
Nikki Hautala-Manor, agency marketing coordinator and Ball State alumna, said she organized the event as a way to support local businesses, especially direct-sale companies and hand-crafted vendors, which she said "often get overlooked, though they always make great gifts."
"I'm really passionate about the companies that I represent," Hautala-Manor said. "And it also serves a great cause, because animals are overlooked all times of year, but especially at the holidays. So if we can help raise awareness and help the animals, then that’s icing on the cake."
Hautala-Manor has organized similar events in the past for other non-profit organizations, and says it's an opportunity for people to get great deals on unique holiday gifts, as well as support a much needed cause.
