In an effort to help those effected by the EF3 tornado that went through Kokomo on Aug. 24, damaging hundreds of homes and businesses, the Ball Brothers Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to the Indiana Region of the American Red Cross.
BBF sent out a press release Sept. 20 stating that “the emergency grant will support the organization’s work to provide disaster relief.”
“The Red Cross plays a critical role in helping to meet the basic needs of individuals and families affected by disasters,” said Jud Fisher, president and chief operating officer of Ball Brothers Foundation, in the press release. “Given the severity of recent storms, Ball Brothers Foundation wanted to do our part to support previous, current, and future relief efforts. We are grateful for all that the Red Cross volunteers, staff and other supporters are doing to aid communities in need.”
According to the press release, BBF has made similar grants in the past to the Indiana Region of the American Red Cross for disaster relief.
Annually, the foundation awards approximately 100 grants with assets exceeding $160 million.
