Senior Brittany Kelly has been selected to compete at the NCAA Central Regional May 5-7 at Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind.
She is the first female golfer in school history to advance to the NCAA Regional.
"It feels pretty good to know that my season isn't over and I have another opportunity to play collegiate ball," Kelly said.
Eighteen individuals were selected to compete at the NCAA Regional.
Kelly has been outstanding this season, placing in the top 10 seven times and in the top 20 eight times. She was honored with the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week Award three times and led the team with a 75.30 average.
Kelly said she doesn't feel nervous to play at the NCAA Regional.
"The hard part is over," she said. "I've worked so hard throughout my career to get to this point. Getting [to regionals] is an accomplishment in itself."
The completion of the MAC Championships marked the end of the team's season, but Kelly continues to practice for regionals.
"I'm practicing like normal," she said. "But it's a little different when you don't have your teammates to support you."
After graduating from Ball State, Kelly said she will take her skills to the next level and play professionally in the LPGA. Her first event is at the end of May.
The NCAA Central Regional is a 54-hole event with 18 holes played each day. Eight teams and two individuals will advance to the NCAA Championships.
Kelly will tee off at 8:55 a.m on May 5. and at 1:15 p.m. May 6. The final round is scheduled for 8:55 a.m. on May 7.
